Authoritative Content from 180+
World-Class Publishers
ebrary continues to grow our collection, which currently includes 13,000 titles in key subject areas such as Business & Economics, Computers & Technology, Language & Literature, Social Science, Medicine, History and Philosophy. Our publishing partners include The McGraw-Hill Companies, Random House, Penguin Classics, Taylor & Francis, Yale University Press, John Wiley & Sons, Greenwood and many others.

ebrarian for Libraries is based on the portable document format (PDF), which is used by the majority of printing houses worldwide. This enables ebrary to efficiently acquire frontlist titles at the source and quickly grow our collections. PDF technology also ensures that documents maintain the exact look and feel of the originals.

Unlimited Multi-User Access Online     With ebrarian, libraries can give an unlimited number of patrons simultaneous access to authoritative content and advanced research tools.

Desktop Delivery     ebrarian for Libraries does not require e-book reading devices. Patrons can securely access their libraries’ co-branded website from any Internet-enabled computer.

Full-Text Browse and Search     ebrary Reader enables users to view and search through documents. ebrary Reader software (approximately 500K) takes less than a minute to download and can be pre-installed on patrons’ terminals or installed on-demand as needed. ebrary Reader is available for Windows and Macintosh using Netscape and Internet Explorer browsers.

With ebrary Reader, patrons can perform full-text searches within a specific document or search the full text of all available documents in the ebrary repository. Additionally, patrons can search by Author, Title, Publisher or Subject.

Powerful Research Tools     ebrary’s InfoTools™ technology makes it easy for patrons to find and use the information they need and interact with content at the word level. With InfoTools, libraries can create custom links to knowledge resources of their choice including definitions, biographical information, maps and translations as well as other digital resources within the library. Patrons can instantly access these resources when words or phrases are selected.

The ebrary InfoTools menu can also be integrated with libraries’ OPAC systems. For example, patrons can highlight words or phrases in documents provided by ebrary and automatically access additional resources within the OPAC. They can also utilize this function to locate currently viewed documents on a library’s physical shelf. ebrarian for Libraries supports most OPAC systems that provide web browser access.

Personal Bookshelf     Libraries can provide patrons with the ability to create personalized bookshelves, which allow them to save links to viewed titles. Bookshelves also features highlighting, bookmarks and annotations.

Accounting and Reporting Tools     Libraries can use real time activity reports to gain information on usage and transactions to help make informed collection development decisions. These activity reports include specific pages accessed/viewed, pages printed or copied and the number of patrons accessing a title in a certain timeframe.

Custom Website     The ebrarian service is delivered via a custom, co-branded website. We host all software and content on a cluster of high-availability, redundant servers in a secure, high-performance data center. Co-branded websites can be customized with libraries’ logos and branding and never contain advertisements.

Integration     ebrarian for Libraries integrates with libraries’ existing workflow, digital resources, and catalog and administrative processes. ebrary provides full MARC records for titles in our repository.
